Westward Look Wyndham Grand a Tucson Tennis Leader

Posted on December 11, 2013

Tucson, Ariz. (Dec. 11, 2013) – Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa’s tennis facility has been named the 2013 Member Organization of the Year by the United States Tennis Association-Southern Arizona.

This award is given to an organizational member of the USTA-SAZ for outstanding service to the Southern Arizona tennis community and to its individual members.

“Westward Look is a leader in the Tucson tennis community,” said USTA-SAZ President Michael Capp, in a letter announcing the award. Capp cited the resort’s sponsorship of different programs, clinics and USTA tennis teams, including men’s, women’s and mixed leagues; a five-day-a-week junior program serving more than 75 players; and its support of 10-year-old and under tennis programs.

The recognition is the second this year for the resort’s tennis program. Earlier this year, Westward Look Wyndham Grand was voted one of the World’s Top 75 Tennis Resorts 2013 by readers of the international travel site Tennis Resorts Online. The resort has eight championship courts, all with spectacular views and with five courts lighted for nighttime play. The renowned program is led by Director of Tennis Tom Lepisto, a past Professional Tennis Registry Member of the Year for Arizona.

Tennis aficionados are invited to experience all this at Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa, where 300+ days of sunshine a year create ideal playing conditions. The resort’s Stay and Play Tennis Package (starting at $149 per night) includes game matching with local players, while the Tennis Challenge Package (starting at $209 per night) includes a one-hour lesson with one of the resort’s team of top-rated Southwestern U.S. Professional Tennis Association instructors. Rates do not include taxes and resort fees, and are subject to availability.
