Thanksgiving in Tucson with a View

Posted on November 14, 2013

Late November in Tucson is always popular for those seeking a dose of winter sunshine, glorious hiking, cycling (at events such as El Tour de Tucson, Nov. 23), Mexican food as only Tucson can make it – and of course, Thanksgiving meals that somehow keep going ALL day.

The latter is the inspiration for Thanksgiving 2013 here at Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa. Our popular Grand Brunch Buffet is back, served as always in the Sonoran Ballroom. But different families have different holiday rhythms. So anytime you come by, you can be sure some great food will be ready and waiting. (Just like home, but without the dishes.)

If you’re early birds, with a day packed with activities, the breakfast buffet at our newly remodeled, award-winning restaurant, GOLD, is an elegant start. Served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

For an opulent meal, reserve your table to indulge at our Grand Brunch Buffet: the centerpiece of a day devoted to food and family. With turkey, prime rib, smoked salmon, shrimp, AMAZING desserts, and more, everyone will find something to go back to for seconds – and we’ll take care of the clean-up part. While on property, it’s also a great opportunity to appreciate the view of the Catalinas. It’s something even we locals don’t do often enough and which all visitors need to see.

If a simply satisfying Thanksgiving plate is more your style, the Lookout Bar & Grille is the place for you. We’ll have roasted turkey, gravy, savory stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce – served up with the day’s football games – for $28. We’ll be serving this from 11 a.m. through to late dinner at 10 p.m.

Feel free to indulge, because should you desire a leisurely stroll following your meal, there is no better place than  through our grounds, covering 80 acres of Sonoran landscape. Stop by our Chef’s Garden, where we grow much  of the fruits and produce our guests enjoy throughout the year. Some of which you may even have just sampled.

Of course, you can also choose to just relax and stay into the weekend. In that case, “My Stay, My Way” is a great overnight package, starting at $154 per night, with a bonus $50 resort credit that’s perfect for breakfast or a spa treatment the next day. With a Thanksgiving weekend like that and the company of friends and family, what’s not to be thankful for?
